Details:

1. To provide an independent chairing service for multi-agency and departmental meetings in matters relating to Child Protection and Looked after Children.
2. To facilitate inter-agency and departmental working in relation to Child Protection and Looked after Children through effective communication with all relevant agencies.
3. To promote and monitor adherence to the Child Protection procedures, the statutory requirements for Looked after Children to enable a consistent and high quality service to children and their families who are receiving services from the Department
4. To provide a specialist consultancy and advice service to staff of the department and other agencies.
5. To drive and facilitate the department in developing strong, safe, effective and transparent relationships with other agencies and wider community networks.
6. To promote and monitor adherence to the Child Protection and looked after children regulations, guidance and departmental procedures to enable a consistent and high quality service to children and their families who are receiving services from the Department.
7. To ensure that services are planned and delivered in a way that maximises participation and reflects children’s rights in relation to the services being provided, and to act on the views of children and young people and demonstrate that the child’s voice is heard and reflected in all the work with children and young people.

To undertake regular themed department audits and quality assurance of social care case work and provide learning feedback to practitioners on outcomes to improve quality of service delivery.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.

• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
