Adoption Support Worker

Wirral Temporary, Full Time £11.81 - £14.72 per hour

Ashberry Recruitment are always recruiting for agency Social Workers and Social Worker Support Staff for Social Work Teams across The North of England.

This requirement, is for Adoption Support Worker to join our client, Wirral Borough Council within their Social Work Adoption Team.

This role is to assist in the development of adoption support services for those adopted, their adopters and others affected by adoption, and to work alongside the Children & Families Social Work Team to develop services to meet the needs of those involved in the adoption process.

These duties apply to work as an Adoption Support Worker for Adoption In Merseyside (AiM) for the secondment period, which may be extended and may become a permanent arrangement. Should the secondment period end the post holder will be required to work to a more general support worker job description.

Our client requests that candidates must be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience and demonstrable skills in engaging children/young people through a variety of direct work methods
  • Good understanding of Adoption processes
  • Ability to write concise, fit for purpose reports/assessments and have the ability to maintain up to date and accurate records.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of inputting into children’s services data systems
  • Ability to be flexible, resilient and reflective.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker (not essential).
  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance (ideally).
  • Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate (can be applied for if needed).
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
  • Can work within and contribute to a team.
  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
  • Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
  • Contracts are generally full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.

With the current covid circumstances, there is home/remote/agile working available within a lot of these requirements along with suitable allocation of PPE.
