Agency Practice Manager – Cared For Children Team – Salford City Council

Salford Temporary, Full Time £43 - £43 per hour

This requirement is for an Agency Social Worker Practice Manager to join our client Salford City Council within their Care For Children Team.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen on the Cared Children Team for an Interim full time Practice Manager.

We are looking for an experienced Social Work professional who is able to manage both practitioners and case related performance.

You will have a strong understanding of what best practice looks like and be passionate about inspiring and improving children’s lives, as well as the continuous professional development of social work practitioners.

A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to work with children and their families whose needs are complex is key. Good people skills are a must.

You will have knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and of legislation, regulations and guidance relating to Children’s social care together with an ability to assess and manage risk.

This particular role is slightly different in that you will carry a small caseload of around 10 children.

You will have responsibility for supervising ASYE’s, Social Work Support Officers and/or facilitate monthly reflective supervision.

Responsibility will also include chairing strategy meetings, Missing from home meetings, care planning meetings and completing audits, to name a few.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance.
  • Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
  • Can work within and contribute to a team.
  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
  • Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
  • Contracts are full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.

With the current covid circumstances, there is home/remote/agile working available within a lot of these requirements along with suitable allocation of PPE.
