Business Development Coordinator

Job Purpose

  • Take the lead role in business development
  • Focussing on company profitability, sales and all commercial relationships including members/customers, prospects, suppliers and partners
  • To be a key point of contact between our client and prospective new business clients, developing enquiries, uncovering new opportunities from all possible sales routes and managing them through to completion to ensure that company sales targets are achieved in line with growth plans and company objectives
  • To identify and maximise cross-selling opportunities from the Comply Direct customer base, leaving no opportunity untapped
  • Working closely with marketing and the commercial team to ensure the successful follow up and implementation of sales campaigns with full management of conversion rates, ensuring that leads are turned in to opportunities and opportunities are closed out efficiently and all are being effectively worked by a member of the team at any given time
  • To spend time nurturing and championing new service areas as identified by the wider team and the diversification task force
  • To ensure all sales progress is tracked and reported accurately

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Identify priority leads and opportunities based on fit, profitability and potential multi service areas and ensure that they are effectively taken through the sales cycle to closing
  • Manage all live opportunities on Salesforce through prioritisation and providing support and inspiration to the team, managing results of the entire sales cycle
  • With support from the marketing function, take overall responsibility for maximising resignees of other schemes
  • To support the Sales Executive and Sales and Marketing Admin Assistant with working and closing non-compliant (free-rider) and other scheme companies as required
  • Identify and manage sales opportunities across the company service range including new members and consultancy revenue with a focus on cherry-picking the best fit clients for company objectives
  • Conduct sales visits to companies where an opportunity has been qualified to close them out
  • Positively demonstrate the company services to prospective members via sales presentations, webinars, skype calls, podcasts etc.
  • Create sales proposals where required
  • Support the Business Development Manager with Tier A/B prospects and Tenders as well as Tier A and B retention as required
  • Help to prepare internal sales reports and manage the pipeline and forecasting using Salesforce and maintain the accuracy of the Salesforce database
  • Monitor competitor activity and share competitor information with the team, using knowledge to pro-actively shape the companies offering to keep ahead of the curve
  • Develop cross sell opportunities with existing clients, ensuring that all are worked to conclusion and a mutually satisfactory outcome
  • Manage the success of marketing campaigns providing strategic input into what is required and following each campaign through to its optimum results, ensuring all leads and opportunities are captured, worked in line with deadlines
  • Help with the identification and development of new market opportunities
  • Ensure the sales process is efficient and effective putting the customer first at all times and instilling and influencing a customer led ethos with the wider team at all times
  • Attend suitable networking events to represent the company and generate referrals and partnership opportunities
  • Challenge sales approach and lead generation approach to ensure the Company is always continually developing new and innovative approaches to stay ahead of the competition

The Person

  • Fully adept with Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Proven sales track record and comfortable working under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient at managing conflicting demands
  • Highly organised and conscientious approach
  • Positive, enthusiastic outlook with a very persistent and resilient approach
  • Self-starting with creative thinking skills
  • Team orientated
  • Quick to learn and able to think on your feet
  • To be able to quickly grasp technical legislation and convey it in simple terms
  • An ability to develop dialogue with prospect companies and to build strong relationships
  • Excellent telephone skills
