Ashberry Recruitment are looking for a Buyer with experience in plastics (plastics recycling is advantageous, but some knowledge of different polymer types is a must) for our client based in Leeds. Our client is an ambitious start-up, Environment Agency accredited secondary waste material sourcing facility.

Job Responsibilities

As the Buyer covering the UK, you will source and purchase baled waste plastic films, off-grade /scrap plastic materials from the UK market with a focus on sourcing from retail and manufacturing sectors. You will be responsible for all aspects of supply chain / purchasing management including:

• Commercial negotiations and contract compliance
• Total acquisition
• Cost optimisation
• Product life-cycle management
• Supply demand planning and inventory management
• Longer-term supply strategy development and implementation
• Account management; growing and retaining existing business, as well as seeking new business opportunities

Person Specification

You will be an established professional who has experience in the plastic recycling market and have experience in business development within plastics recycling and account management. You will also be an excellent negotiator and strong communicator with the ability to prioritise, as well as an exceptional relationship builder and a true self starter. A flexible approach is essential, as is a strong sense humour.

Account management will be a big part of the role, the successful candidate will be working with the accounts our client has already got (some big names already!) and developing the accounts that are interested in working with them.  The successful candidate will be working closely with the MD and their sister company.
