Caretaker

Salford, Greater Manchester, UK Temporary, Part Time £9.2 - £9.2 per hour

Ashberry Recruitment are looking for a part time Caretaker, working 20 hours per week. This is an ongoing temporary role for at least 4-8 weeks with a potential view of going permanent. The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the scheme, principally low level maintenance duties, decorating, repairs, gardening and cleaning.

 Accountabilities

  • To ensure that the internal cleanliness of all the communal areas and office facilities are kept to the required specification, including organising the cleaning programme, equipment and supplies
  • To ensure that the exterior area of the building is maintained to the required specification including the long term management and maintenance of planting, lawned areas and paths etc
  • To ensure that the property is maintained to a high standard and kept in good repair which will include undertaking low level maintenance duties as set out in the caretaker/handyperson’s task sheet, in accordance to the associations policies and procedures
  • To be the main contact person for contractors or for maintenance callouts to the scheme
  • To ensure that the scheme complies with all aspects of health and safety, including carrying out routine fire testing
  • To keep accurate up to date records of all health and safety checks
  • To respond promptly to all repair requests and to actively seek out works required in and around the building
  • Adhere to the Association’s policies, procedures and strategies as applicable with particular reference to the health and safety and diversity documents
  • Undertake mandatory training as and when required by the Association or if identified as a training need. Undertake additional role specific training as and when required.
  • To undertake any reasonable additional duties as instructed by the line manager or senior management team within the spirit of the role or aims and objectives of the association.
