Ashberry are looking for an experienced Centre Manager to oversee an open access day centre for the homeless.
Hours are 37.5 per week.
Salary scale is £26,999 – £31,371.
Contract is until 31 December 2019 in the first instance to cover for a period of secondment, but may be extended.
The Centre Manager will be responsible for the day to day operation of an open access service for the homeless which is open 8am to 8pm seven days a week.
The Centre Manager is responsible for leading a large team of staff, many of whom are on set shift patterns, and volunteers in delivering a range of services including: catering, laundry and washing facilities, drop in advice and support, engagement/development sessions and one-to-one support planning and resettlement services. The centre is also instrumental in the provision of a range of third party agency services including health and treatment surgeries and more structured programmes of learning and development.
We are looking for an experienced manager who has a proven track record of delivering multifaceted services to service users having a wide range of differing and complex needs. As the Centre is a very busy and fast paced environment, first class planning and organisational skills will be essential as will the ability to provide strong and directed leadership ensuring decisions are made quickly and implemented efficiently, whilst maintaining high levels of personal credibility.
As Centre Manager you must have fantastic people skills and be happy working in a fast paced, service user facing role, with people who display extremely challenging behaviour who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol or have poor mental health.
Typically the centre can have 80 or more service users in at any one time, so experience of working with rough sleepers and people with a street lifestyle will be vital
Hours are 7.15am to 3.15pm Monday to Friday with the usual caveats around the need for some flexibility to work outside of these hours and at weekends by exception.
