Children’s Social Worker – Support & Protect Team

Trafford Temporary, Full Time £35 - £35 per hour

Ashberry Recruitment are always recruiting for agency Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, Practice and Team Managers along with Support Workers and staff for Social Work Teams and Services across the Northwest of England.

This particular requirement is for an Agency Social Worker to join our client Trafford Council to work within their Children In Need Team!

Trafford Council require an experienced social worker on our Support and Protect South Team (base is at the Altrincham Hub)

Support and Protect (localities) – As we have created a dedicated Child in Need Service, this has allowed us to create a dedicated service to work with children and families when things escalated to Child Protection in the Support and Protect Service.

Are you passionate about the longer term and complex work of child protection, clear and child focused plans, formal partnerships and risk management?

You will need smart report writing skills, are be skilled as a witness in court.

We are committed to ensuring that your workload is manageable. This isn’t necessarily a specific caseload number as we all know that in our practice numbers don’t always reflect the complexity of the children and families you are working with.

Manageable workloads are therefore critical for managers to support you with and to confirm priorities through discussion and supervision.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance.
Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
Can work within and contribute to a team.
Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
Contracts are full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.
