An opportunity for a Team Manager has arisen within the Children with Disabilities Team at Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.

The post holder will be responsible for the organisation, management and supervision of Social Care, Looked After Children and Independent Review and Child Protection Services for Disabled Children. You will be a highly motivated individual whom will be responsible for the team based development of high quality social work, early intervention and looked after children practice by ensuring that case work is appropriately planned, critically evaluated and reviewed and that key performance indicators are met.

To contribute to overall strategic planning and management of the service and to the development of high quality services. To lead the team ensuring that the functions of the Service are carried out effectively and in accordance with the legislation, regulations, guidance standards and local procedures and priorities.

To represent the Head of Service as delegated.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
