Finance Officer

Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK Contract, Part Time £11667 - £11677 per annum

Ashberry Recruitment are looking for a Temporary Finance Officer until November 2019. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive financial and administrative support function to our Manchester based client.  

Main duties 

  • Maintenance and development of financial systems and records;
  • Preparation of financial accounts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Payroll administration, including PAYE and liaison with accountants and HMRC
  • Banking of monies received
  • Payment of receipts and invoices
  • Management of petty cash including allocation of petty cash to projects
  • Maintenance and development of records and information required by funders
  • Support and assistance to the C.E.O with fundraising applications
  • Maintenance and development of data and information recording systems
  • Management of stock levels and ordering within budget constraints
  • Preparing service/department budgets
  • Preparing monthly reports on Cashflow, Invoices and Creditors reports for the CEO and Board of Trustees
  • Any other duties as request by the C.E.O and commensurate with the role
  • Reporting to Charity Commission & Companies House, Annual Reports etc

 Skills & Knowledge           

  • At least 2 years’ experience of a finance & administration role and an appropriate education level
  • Experience of budget planning and reporting
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Quickbooks and/or SAGE
  • Experience of cash handling and reconciliation and reporting of these
  • IT/computer literate and ability to use all Microsoft Office packages
  • Knowledge of PAYE system and its requirements
  • Experience of planning and reporting on allocated tasks and projects
  • Ability to train new staff in use of office and I.T. Equipment
  • Knowledge of housing benefit and rent collection
  • Knowledge and experience of creating and managing budgets, profit and loss, cashflow and other financial reports
  • Knowledge and understanding of the effects of domestic abuse on women, men, children and young people and the support services available and relevant legislation
  • Full driving licence and access to a car for work
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements

Additional Requirement

The post is subject to enhanced DBS checks.
