We are proud to be working with a new and exciting provider of social care services for children and young people and are looking for experienced Support Workers to join their rapidly expanding team in the East Lancashire area.
On their behalf, we are seeking to identify passionate and enthusiastic Support Workers to join their growing portfolio of residential placements for Looked After Children in crisis.
As a Support Worker you will be committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children within your care. We are looking for experienced individuals dedicated to providing a high standard of care and support to these disadvantaged young people.
Successful applicants will have experience of encouraging children and young people who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, attachment disorders and complex needs, to restore trust in others bringing about a strong foundation for their future.
Support Workers must be resilient and open-minded for work with these youngsters who can be both verbally and physically challenging as a result of their often-traumatic backgrounds. These young people may be at risk of self-harm, criminal/sexual exploitation and absconding from placement.
An NVQL3 Residential Child Care qualification would be preferable. A driving licence is essential and potential candidates will be subject to a vigorous screening process including references and enhanced DBS checks.
This is a permanent role working 12 or 24 hour shifts (long days/sleeps) and we have both zero hours and contracted hours available so those seeking flexible or part time work are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will work via the agency for 12 weeks before being directly employed by our client, and this begins with 4 days of in-depth, paid training including MAPA.
Please apply promptly to avoid disappointment. Candidates available for an immediate start will be given priority.
