Details:
Experienced children’s social worker required for the Adoption service. Children’s social workers work alongside FAST colleagues to twin track cases that have a possibility of a plan of adoption. The role involves the writing of Child Permanence Reports and Placement Order reports for the scrutiny of the Agency Decision Maker and the court. The role also involves the support of children in care who have a plan of adoption. This includes completing statutory visits and reviews, family finding and matching children with their adoptive families and supporting them through to an adoption order being made. The role also involves the completion of lifestory books and later in life letter and working alongside birth family members. Children can be placed out of county, both within the Family adoption links region and further afield, so involves travel .

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
