Social Worker – Children – Locality Teams

Ashberry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a number of full time Social Workers to join our clients Localities Teams at Tameside Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to come and work for our client Tameside Council.

We are currently looking for 3 agency Social Workers to join their locality teams.

You will be joining the council at a time of transformation and great investment into services for children and social work practice.

You will be working within small social work teams, being case accountable for a complex and challenging case load of children and young people and completing all necessary statutory requirements within child protection and care planning processes.

All posts are based at the Denton Centre and we have 3 vacancies on the following:

1) Stalybridge Locality Team
2) Denton Locality Team
3) Hyde Locality Team (maternity cover)

You will take the lead on championing the voice of children. The work will include undertaking assessments, direct work with children and families, Court work and formulating and implementing SMART plans.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
• Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance. 
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
• Have the ability to work within and contribute to a team.
• Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
• Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
• Have the ability to write clear, concise and robust reports.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.

Contracts here are generally full-time and normally offered for over a 3 month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.
