An Adults Social Worker is required for the Front Door  (First Contact) Team in Rotherham.

The post is based within the ‘Front Door’ of Adult Social Care where the focus is to ensure that the adults of Rotherham and their carers are enabled to prioritise their well-being, maximise assets, promote independence and ensure vulnerable adults are safeguarded appropriately when needed.

Duties Include:

• Screening referrals and enquiries over the telephone and providing a response to our customers who may attend the office.
• You will be screening safeguarding concerns and completing section 42 initial enquiries.
• There will be a focus on protection planning, making safeguarding personal, empowerment and working with partners, including the Police, NHS professionals and housing colleagues.
• You will support customers to maximise their independence and personal outcomes through the provision of comprehensive advice, information, practical support, and signposting.
• Focusing on strengths, prevention, early intervention, and the promotion of wellbeing throughout your practice. You will ensure that customers receive the right support, advice, and information at the time they need it.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• Previous experience in a Front Door Team
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
