Social Worker – Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (Adults)

Ashberry Recruitment are always recruiting for agency Social Workers for across The North of England.

This requirement is for Adult Social Worker(s) to join our client, Knowsley Council within their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), which is normally based out of NutGrove Villa, Knowsley office L36 6GA.

Under the supervision of the Adult Safeguarding Team Manager within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), the post-holder will ensure that the needs of adults referred to the team are identified, met, safeguarded and monitored in accordance with the requirements of the Care Act 2014 and Knowsley’s safeguarding policy and procedures, including other relevant requirements and legislation.

Provide adult safeguarding advice and support to professionals and members of the public when safeguarding concerns have been received in MASH, in accordance with criteria guidance and the multi-agency adult safeguarding policy and procedure In line with the local threshold guidance, the post holder will undertake safeguarding enquiries in consultation with other key professionals in order to attempt to minimise risk and impact of potential abuse upon adults with care and support needs and their carers.

Establish and maintain good, collaborative working relationship with partner agencies providing a service to adults with care and support needs in accordance with the adult safeguarding policy and procedure.

To respond to safeguarding referrals received through Knowsley’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub Ensure interim/long term protection/risk management plans are in place in accordance with the principles and practice of Making Safeguarding Personal. Ensuring that people are actively involved in the safeguarding process and supporting the outcomes they wish to achieve, in consultation with family/carers and key professionals.

This post is full time, but part time applicants may be considered.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance.
  • Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
  • Can work within and contribute to a team.
  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
  • Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
  • Contracts are generally full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.

With the current covid circumstances, there is home/remote/agile working available within a lot of these requirements along with suitable allocation of PPE.
