Social Worker – Blackpool

Blackpool, Lancashire, UK Temporary, Full Time £19.72 - £38 per hour

Ashberry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a number of Qualified Social Worker’s to join our client, Blackpool Council.

We have a number of requirements for a number of different teams, but this advert refers to their requirement for a Practice Development Manager.

This role will be based at the new and impressive Bickerstaffe House building, FY1 3AH.

 

As a Practice Manager Learning and Development for our Safeguarding Teams you will support the teams with all aspects of learning and development to improve the quality of service delivery.

You will support our ASYE’s ensuring a comprehensive package of support for their first year in practice. You will have access to a comprehensive training programme and will also have the opportunity to devise your own training briefs and plans. Training plans will be put in place for all members of the team with the focus on improving outcomes children and young people. You will lead on providing quality placements for students and support staff to undertake their Practice Educator training.

As the PDM for learning and development you will support the management team with addressing practice, observing staff, running learning circles and providing reflective supervision for all staff. You will assist with the HCPC training for staff and support to ensure they are practising in line with the social work standards.

You will need to have experience and skills pertaining to Safeguarding children with a working knowledge of all other aspects of statutory children services. A flexible and creative approach to working and a desire to influence the improvement in services is a must.

 

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification and will be registered with the HCPC as a qualified social worker.
  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance. 
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
  • Have the ability to work within and contribute to a team.
  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
  • Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
  • Have the ability to write clear, concise robust reports.
  • Have a flexible approach when need arises.

Contracts are full-time and offered for a minimum of 3 months.
