Agency Child & Family Worker – Wirral

Ashberry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a number of agency Children Service Social Workers to join our client, Wirral MBC.

However, this requirement is for 2 x Children & Family Workers to join their busy CP/Court/CLA Team.

Client info:

Family worker required to work on busy CP/Court/CLA team. The worker will need excellent communication skills with a desire to support the most vulnerable of families. Work will involve supporting families to engage with intervention to reduce risk of significant harm. The Family Worker will be required to complete domestic abuse education with parents including one to one sessions, the training to facilitate group learning would be a benefit. The Family Worker will be expected to complete the graded care profile with families, develop plans with parents to improve home conditions, school attendance and behavior. The worker will be expected to liaise with all agencies involved with a family to get the best results and make improvements. The Family Worker will be expected to contribute to assessments that will be filed with the court.

This role would be ideally for a Newly Qualified Social Worker looking to take their first steps in to a Children Services Team or a Social Worker looking to take a step back from Social Work practice but still utilise their Social Work skills

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker (desirable but not essential)
• Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance.
• Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
• Can work within and contribute to a team.
• Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
• Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
• Contracts are generally full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.

With the current covid circumstances, there is home/remote/agile working available within a lot of these requirements along with suitable allocation of PPE.
