Team: EDT Emergency Duty Team

Rate: £40per hour

2x EDT Social Workers are required for the Emergency Duty Team in Tameside.

The role of the EDT Social Worker is to promote and safeguard the welfare of children in need, looked after children and children in need of safeguarding by means of an effective assessment of need and the co-ordination and provision of appropriate services.

The Team work on a rota that provides cover at times that the daytime offices are closed on evenings, overnight, weekends and public holidays which rotates over 3 weeks including working 2 out of 3 weekends. The role currently is working from home, but office based working may be required at times / in the future.

The successful candidate will have the benefit of:

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• 3 years minimum post qualified experience in Childrens Social Work
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
