Hours: 37 and HYBRID WORKING

Rate: £40 per hour

A Children’s Social Worker is required for the Assessment Team in Leeds.

We are looking for experienced social workers who are able to manage a complex caseload and competing demands comprising of Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need, Child Protection, Child Care Proceedings until permanence.

Social workers should be able to practice restoratively with child and families and promote family led decisions to manage risk and meet support needs. Applicants must demonstrate excellent relational work with children and families and be able to engage children through direct work and child centred practice. Applicants will be expected to share their experience and support colleagues within the team with co-worked cases.

Organisation skills and ability to meet competing demands are required to ensure practice standards, good quality and practice and performance.

The post requires workers to have good analytical assessment skills and with high quality written work.

Social workers will need to work as part of a busy but supportive team and share their knowledge and skills to promote the learning culture.

Applicants must be able to drive and have use of a car.

Must be office based for duty but hybrid working is negotiable dependant on the needs of the team.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Post qualification experience
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• One year minimum post qualified experience in Children’s Social Work
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
